Employee Spotlight: Alex North, Territory Sales Manager
After teaching for four years, Alex North made his way to Audio Enhancement, where he continues to make an impact in education. North is the Territory Sales Manager over Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia. He is dedicated to not only bringing Audio Enhancement to more schools in his region, but to making sure each of those schools is using the technology to make classrooms more effective.
North taught at high schools in Chicago and Indiana for four years, where he taught a variety of subjects like U.S. History and World History. He was awarded Teacher of the Year while teaching U.S. History with a focus on project-based learning. He became a teacher because he always liked working with children, and teaching was a way to do that while coaching sports, another passion of his.
As with every profession, there are pros and cons of teaching. North’s favorite part of teaching was the moment that a student understood a lesson or concept, as if a lightbulb were going off in their head.
Something that North found to be a difficulty in teaching was the process of feedback. If a coach and teacher talked about a lesson in the pre-observation meeting, but the coach missed that lesson, it was time wasted and frustrating for both of them. North knows the difference that Audio Enhancement’s VIEWpath can make when it comes to feedback, not only for recording lessons to be evaluated by coaches, but also to show parents how their kids are doing in class.
When North became a sales representative for Audio Enhancement, he knew that he would be selling products that could make a difference in teachers’ lives. From Classroom Audio to VIEWpath (Video Interactive Education Window)™, Audio Enhancement is dedicated to making learning more effective.
“I think that’s something that Audio Enhancement does really well, caring about schools and not just selling them the product,” says North.
“There is no other technology out there like classroom audio. It can be in every classroom, English or Science, and helps students learn better.”
Alex also mentioned that other tools such as SAFE (Signal Alert for Education) System™ and VIEWpath provide support to educators in many ways.
